The Original Immortal Sisters Challenge was designed by tigger89 for TS3, and a ruleset was published by Scklsy for TS4. I liked the core concepts and ideas for the challenge, but some of the restrictions made little sense to me (why can't I leave the lot? Why do I need to divide it into quarters; that's just inefficient?) and I rather dislike challenges that don't have a definitive "ending" ("Have as many children as possible" is not a goal - nor is "You win when you get bored"). This ruleset was inspired by a combination of the Sims 3 rules, the Sims 4 rules, and the Immortal Dynasty Challenge.
Since the dawn of time, Sims have been fascinated by the idea of living forever. Four young sims in particular have decided to make immortality their quest. Where they have come from is of little consequence - the point is they have now found each other in Willow Creek where they hope to someday, somehow own the town.
The desire for immortality needn't be innocent - in fact, it is often the most deviant of sims who choose this quest. These sims are bound to one another, be it by blood or by an oath to each other. Beyond that, the citizens of Willow Creek and Oasis Springs are all equally fair prey.
In this challenge, you have four sims - they were originally four sisters, but the only one who really needs to be female is the fire sister. For simplicity's sake, they will be referred to as sisters/she/her from this point forward. Their aim is immortality by Cow plant - they will live forever on the life milk of their foes. There are a number of requirements that each sibling must complete, as well as requirements for the children born to the fire sister. The challenge is won when:
Starting Out
Starting in a brand new game file, create your 4 sims in CAS. You may customize their appearance as much as you like, but each of them is limited to selecting their traits from a set list (see below). An additional restriction applies in that while some traits might appear on lists for more than one sister, you may only select those traits once. (i.e: the creative trait is an option for both the fire sister and the water sister; if you select it for the water sister, you may not also select it for the fire sister). As mentioned, the original challenge had 4 women and for the purposes of this description, I have used 4 women as well, but you may use any combination of genders if you so desire, though the fire sim must be female. Make sure you adjust relationships so that all four sims are siblings before continuing.
Move your new family into an empty lot (any neighbourhood, any town). Before building the house, you may apply the motherload cheat to your household once in order to establish your sims. You may choose to move them to another lot now or at any point (if you move partway through, the entire household moves, and mind those collectibles!). There are no restrictions to the size/shape of the house, not to what you can or cannot place inside it. You may use a house or rooms from the gallery, but please make sure that should you choose this route, you need to make sure the house doesn't contain any career rewards that you haven't yet unlocked yourself in gameplay.
Gameplay Rules and Restrictions
- No cheats except for one motherload at the start of the game, and basic utility cheats such as reset object or reset sim or building-related cheats (bb.moveobjects is fine). Otherwise, you are only allowed to use cheats in order to fix significant glitches.
- You must play with the default gameplay settings: Aging on, Normal Lifespan, High Autonomy, etc.
- You have full and unlimited use of the manage worlds interface. You may create and add sims to your neighbourhood as you see fit, or install sims from the gallery.
- Having said that, you may only play the Immortal Sisters household in this save file. Switching gameplay to another household is an automatic fail.
- You may not invite to move in any sims. The only exception to this rule is a single spouse for the Water Sister.
- Each of the sisters has set roles which are described below. They are only set roles in that as much as you can, try to prevent the other sisters from attempting/completing these tasks (if they do so autonomously, simply cancel the action). Other, non-immortal household members may help out in any capacity as much as they would like.
- Each of the sisters will have to, at some point, reach level 10 of at least one career. Once she has done this, she may continue working, or she may quit. Only 3 of the sisters may be employed at any given time.
- The only permitted form of life extension is the essense of life potion from the cowplant, and the only sims who may use this potion are the four immortal sisters. Immortality is forbidden to other sims in the household.
- The first four sims who die must remain in their graves on your lot. After that, a minimum of four graves must be kept on the lot - you can do what you like with the rest of them. (If one of your ghosts' graves gets culled, don't panic or scramble to replace it - just proceed as you normally would and keep the next sim that dies).
- Unlike in other versions of this challenge, you won't fail if your sims age up from YA to Adult. You will, however, fail the challenge if they age from Adult to Elder, so try to keep them in the YA stage if you can.
- You can also fail the challenge if one of the Immortal Sisters dies - You may plead with grim or use a death flower to save an immortal, but these actions are forbidden for non-immortal sims. Ambrosia for resurrecting ghosts is forbidden.
Mods
The use of CC is permitted - use at your own risk. ;-)
I am also happy to allow the use of most mods that don't give you a significant advantage over those playing mod-free. Mods that alter appearance or don't change the game behaviour drastically are generally allowed. However, mods that are disallowed include:
- Mods that unlock all the career unlockables
- Mods that would make the game, um, greater than PG13+ (eg Teen Woohoo/Pregnancy mods, which are not condoned by this forum, either).
- Mods that allow for more than 3 traits
- Mods that allow for more than 8 sims on a lot - plan your family carefully.
The Fire Sister
Though not necessarily the eldest, this sim often behaves as such. She is the glue that holds the four sims together, she makes and enforces the rules, and she is the hunter and provider of eternal life for her people.
When creating your fire sim in CAS, you may choose from the following traits:
Requirements for the Fire Sister:
The Fire Sister must complete, in no particular order, 5 aspirations:
She must reach Level 10 in 2 Careers of your choice
She must reach level 10 in the following skills:
She must complete the following in-game collection:
Collections must be placed on the lot somewhere, or stored in the household inventory. Only items found by the sister responsible for that collection may place the items or move them to the household inventory - items found by non-immortals must either be sold or kept separate to the Immortals' Collections.
As for her role within the household, her role is to bear the children to her male companions, and to lure the neighbours into the home of the sisters and to the cowplant - this role is shared with the earth sister. They will provide the life milk that keeps the sisters alive. While she bears the children, it is the role of the water sister to raise them. She may not adopt children, but must bear them all the old fashioned way. She may also mentor the children in the skills she has mastered.
The Water Sister
This sister has always been the quiet, caring and well meaning sim when the sisters were growing up. She adores her family and her hobbies include cooking, cleaning and painting.
When creating your water sim in CAS, you may choose from the following traits:
Requirements for the Water Sister
The water sister must complete, in no particular order, the following five aspirations:
She must reach level 10 in 1 career of your choice
She must reach level 10 in the following skills:
The requirements for the Water Sister aren't as steep as the requirements for the other sisters. This is because it is also her role to care for the children; both her own and those born by the fire sister as much as possible, and maintain the functioning of the house - preparing meals, and fixing the plumbing and electronics, etc. She will need to find a partner and have children of her own either by birth or adoption - she is limited to 5 children of her own. She may only marry once, and her partner may not use any form of life extension. Her partner is not subject to the rules and restrictions that the Immortals live by. If her partner dies before she has the chance to complete all the aspiration tasks she needs him or her for, then you have failed the challenge. She helps the children with their homework; a role that may be shared with the air sister. She may also mentor the children in the skills she has mastered.
When selecting a spouse for the water sister, you may not choose a sim that you yourself have created. A sim downloaded from the gallery is fine, as are any sims spawned by the game - be they the standard townies (Don Lothario or Summer Holiday, for example) or randomly generated ones. Additionally, this spouse may not bring in any of his or her relatives (if they're in a house with other sims, tough), nor may they bring in any more than $20,000. Please check your household balance before moving them in, and use the "Money X" cheat to adjust the household funds if necessary. (For example, if you have 12,490 cash on hand, and you move in Big Bill, and then you suddenly have 52,490 cash on hand, then with testingcheats on, type "money 32490" without quotes into the cheat box to adjust your household balance so that Big Bill only brought in $20,000).
As mentioned, the spouse is not subject to the same stringent rules as the Immortals. He or she may work or not work, or help with kids or gardening. You can complete the aspiration they come with, or change it to something different. He or she may not help the other sisters out with their collections - fish caught or rocks found should be sold immediately. He or she is expected to live a normal lifespan - no life extension allowed! This sim might remain with your family until his natural death, or, If you are sure that you no longer need him or her (i.e. the water sister has completed the aspirations requiring a spouse), you may, of course, feed him to the cowplant.
The Air Sister
Always the most quiet and reserved of her sisters, she has devoted herself to a lifetime of learning and discovery. She is not a social sim, but prefers the company of computers and machines.
When creating your air sister, you may choose from the following traits:
Requirements for the Air Sister
The air sister must complete 5 aspirations:
The Air Sister must reach level 10 in 3 careers of your choice
The air sister must reach level 10 in the following skills:
Additionally, the Air Sister must complete the following in-game collections:
Collections must be placed on the lot somewhere, or stored in the household inventory. Only items found by the sister responsible for that collection may place the items or move them to the household inventory - items found by non-immortals must either be sold or kept separate to the Immortals' Collections.
The Air sister's role is to be the family's provider, and much of her time will be devoted to the pursuit of knowledge and bringing in money for the family. She can also mentor the children in skills that she has mastered, and may help them with their homework. She may not have or adopt children of her own.
The Earth Sister
Though she doesn't have the brains of the air sister, the earth sister has always been a hard worker, albeit, more when it came to manual labour. Though not an introvert per se, she has always struggled with making and maintaining friends - she finds it far too easy to pick fights with people instead. She loves the sun on her back and reveling in her own accomplishments.
When creating your earth sister, you may choose from the following traits:
Requirements for the Earth Sister
The earth sister must complete the following aspirations (again, in no particular order):
The Earth Sister must reach level 10 of one career of your choice.
She must reach level 10 of the following skills:
Additionally, the earth sister must complete the following in-game collections:
Collections must be placed on the lot somewhere, or stored in the household inventory. Only items found by the sister responsible for that collection may place the items or move them to the household inventory - items found by non-immortals must either be sold or kept separate to the Immortals' Collections.
The role of the Earth Sister is to work hard to grow and establish the family garden. Additionally, she should make it her first primary goal to secure and cultivate the cow plants for the sisters - ideally a total of four cowplants will be grown on the lot. She is also a bit of a security blanket for the family - she has highly protective instincts and is distrustful of others. She values her physique and knows she can hold her own in a fight. She can mentor the children in the skills she has mastered, but may not have or adopt children of her own.
Requirements for Children:
Twenty of the sims raised in the immortal sisters household must complete the following requirements. You may have more children, and having a child fail to complete these requirements will not cause you to fail the challenge. You are free to choose any and all traits and aspirations for the children however you wish.
Grandchildren of the Immortals do not count towards the twenty children, whether they complete the requirements or not.
Child Stage
Teen Stage
After aging into a YA, you must choose to either move your children out or feed them to the cowplant within 3 days of their YA birthday. The exception to this rule is one of the Water sister's children may remain in the household, bring in a spouse (same rules that applied to Mom's spouse apply here, too!) but he or she must move out along with their partner and any of his or her children AS SOON AS the Water sister has completed her family-related aspirations.
PLEASE NOTE
While I see no obvious issues with this challenge, I am still play testing it and may change or update the rules at any given point.
If you have any suggestions or ideas/things that I should change, please let me know.
